Our services are individualized to meet the needs of persons with developmental delays.  We utilize principles of Applied Behavior Analysis in treating the individuals that we service.  STEPS consultants focus on the development of skills through the use of intensive clinical programming that are individually designed.   STEPS consultants also implement behavior reduction plans to aid in appropriate coping and self-monitoring skills, as well as overcoming challenging behaviors.  STEPS consultants are trained in a variety of interventions, including Applied Verbal Behavior, Discrete Trial Therapy, Visual Supports, Natural Environmental Teaching, Positive Behavior Supports, and Precision Teaching.  All programs are created after an ABLLS (Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills) is completed in order to determine current levels of functioning and most prevalent needs.  STEPS consultants are data driven and utilize data collection methods in all aspects of treatment.    

 

STEPS consultants are available to provide consultation to home or school programs.  Consultants will observe child in naturalistic settings, conduct an ABLLS assessment, develop clinical programs, set up a data collection system, train all staff and family members on implementation, and consult with the team weekly in order to aid in problem-solving and to make any programmatic changes if necessary.  STEPS consultants value the input of all team members and consult with outside providers in order to maintain consistency of treatment goals.  STEPS consultants are also available to work in the school setting.  Consultants can set up a treatment plan and a behavior management plan as well as train the staff members who will be implementing the plan.   STEPS consultants are available to oversee the implementation on a weekly basis and can help to develop visual strategies and identify appropriate modifications to utilize in the school setting.  STEPS consultants can provide trainings in a variety of different topics and typically work with the school staff in identifying areas of interest and need- and then tailor trainings to meet those needs.
